Saint Maria Goretti
This model of formation combines both large group presentations and traditional classroom instruction. The large group presentations are led by the Coordinator, and the classroom component utilizes Sadlier's "We Live Our Faith" textbook (Vol. 1 for 7th grade; Vol. 2 for 8th grade) and are taught by volunteer catechists. In addition, each class session will include opportunities for hands-on learning through projects that build community and reinforce the lesson.
Our Lady of the Assumption
For Grades 7 and 8 Faith Formation, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish uses a model based on the EDGE program. The program combines large group presentations, small group work, and break-out activities to reinforce the lesson. The program is a two-year cycle, focusing on different aspects of faith. It is a non-traditional model of catechesis, with emphasis on learning about and growing in faith while developing and experiencing a sense of community with peers, Catechists and the parish community.
The Home School program for Grades 7 and 8 Faith Formation at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish utilizes Sadlier's "We Live Our Faith" textbooks (Vol I for 7th Grade and Vol II for 8th Grade).
Confirmation: Grades 9-10
The Confirmation program is a two-year preparation process. Most students enter their first year of preparation in Grade 9 and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Fall following the completion of the second year of preparation, usually at the beginning of their Junior year in high school. We use the Dynamic Catholic's Decision Point Confirmation Program with some added presentations on Baptism and the Eucharist.
