January 19, 2014, Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes:  Don’t forget our Collaborative Holy Hour for Life on Tuesday, January 21 from 7-8PM at Our Lady’s.  This service, centered in Eucharistic Adoration, will be led by Deacon Tom O’Shea.  Throughout the Archdiocese this weekend, the annual Special Collection will be taken up at all Masses.  Cardinal Sean has chosen Catholic Charities as the recipient of this year’s collection funds.  Since neither of our parishes regularly takes up a second collection, I would ask that you please consider making an additional clearly marked donation, either in a separate envelope or targeted in the memo line of a check for Catholic Charities, and place it in the one basket that is passed around at Offertory Time.   We want to do everything we can to support the great work Catholic Charities is doing throughout our local Church.  By the way, the beneficiary of next week’s “second collection” throughout the Archdiocese is the Church in Latin America, also a noble cause, especially given the growing number of Hispanic Catholics in our region.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
