January 17, 2016, Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

News and Notes: Don’t forget the January social at OLA.  It is a covered dish, pot-luck style supper next Saturday, January 23 following the 4PM Mass.  All are welcome!  Staying with OLA, Fr. Arthur Flynn, the senior priest who has celebrated Mass there for several years, has moved to Regina Cleri, the residence for retired priests of the Archdiocese of Boston.  Fr. Flynn blessed us with his priestly ministry, especially his homilies, wit and humor over the years; and we are very grateful for his faithful and generous assistance at Masses on the weekends at OLA.  Join me in wishing Fr. Arthur good health and much happiness in his new home.  You can send Fr. Flynn cards and letters if you wish to Regina Cleri, 60 William Cardinal O’Connell Way, Boston MA 02114-2729.  Thanks to Fr. Tony, Louise Pellegrino, Dan Whelan and Francis Pham at OLA and Kathy Lucey at SMG, along with others in both parishes who assisted them, for the beautiful way in which our churches were decorated for the Christmas Season.  Kudos to Alexis McDuffee and Tara DiFelice and all those who contributed to the wonderful Epiphany Pageants in both parishes on Epiphany Sunday, January 3. Finally, congratulations to parishioners of both Our Lady’s and St. Maria’s for surpassing their respective 2015 Catholic Appeal goals.  Blessings to all of you in the week ahead!
