April 27, 2014 Second Sunday of Easter - Divine Mercy Sunday

News and Notes:  Our second graders in both OLA school and our parish religious education programs will be receiving their First Holy Communion next weekend.  Thanks to the parents, the first and most important teachers of the faith of these children, along with all those who participated in any way in the faith formation of these boys and girls, for their role in preparing our first communicants for this sacrament of initiation.  Special thanks to Jacqui Driscoll (SMG) and Cindy Donovan (OLA), the parish coordinators of our two-year First Holy Communion program.  These women have done an outstanding job in their first year of service to our Collaborative in this role.  We are also particularly grateful for the contribution of Mary Disick and Colleen O’Shea, second grade teachers at OLA school, for their excellent work in the faith formation of our parochial school children.   The OLA St. Vincent DePaul Society (SVDPS), which does great charitable work helping people within our Collaborative boundaries with emergency food, financial aid and other support during a time of need, is asking for your help.  Because of the large number of requests for support, the SVDPS is in urgent need of additional funds in the poor boxes at OLA.  Please consider making an offering of whatever amount you can in a poor box every week, and you will be serving Christ disguised in a neighbor who has fallen on hard times.  May all the blessings of the Easter Season be yours!
